Alaskan man rescued after bear assault by making ‘SOS’ signal on the roof of a shack

The USA Coast Guard not too long ago rescued a person who had survived a bear assault and constructed an “SOS” signal on the highest of a rural Alaska shack.

In a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard, aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak have been travelling by helicopter from Kotzebue to Nome on the western coast of Alaska after they observed the signal and a person waving his arms within the air.

Upon making contact with the person, the coast guard realized that he had survived a bear assault just a few days earlier. The person had bruising on his torso and a leg damage.

The mantold the coast guard that the bear had returned to his camp to harass him day-after-day for per week and that his buddies had grown apprehensive after he didn’t return to Nome.
