Kerala designer’s masks journey to Bollywood

Neeha Salma, a designer and civil engineer from Kozhikode, is over the moon. Masks from her label, Fitish Necessities, have travelled all the best way to Bollywood. Among the many clientele are actors Sara Ali Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Shraddha Kapoor.

“When the pandemic hit, masks grew to become a necessity. That was after I launched Fitish Necessities [a branch of her online label Fitish], a line of material masks, with designs impressed from nature reminiscent of butterflies, rainbows, and sunflowers.

“The three-layered and tender pure cotton masks include hand-embroidery and lace work. My accent is on retaining them cheerful with pleasing colors. Now that the masks has grow to be part of our apparel, I felt that it ought to complement the individual,” says Neeha.

As soon as she began posting her assortment on her Instagram web page (@fitishessentials), a number of e-commerce websites bought in contact together with her. Amongst them was 6degree, which took her masks to the celebrities.

“Sara was photographed twice in my masks, Taapsee posted {a photograph} sporting it whereas travelling to Maldives! Shraddha has promoted it on her deal with,” says the 27-year-old.

Neeha launched Fitish in 2018 as soon as she began getting requests to make garments for family and friends. Fitish does linen and cotton informal put on, along with custom-made wedding ceremony and celebration clothes.
